Terms of use

Clear guidance, used with context.

Prayer calculations, device guidance and editorial recommendations are most useful when their context remains clear.

1. About these terms

These terms apply to use of the Al Huda iPhone app, alhudaprayer.com and Prayer Essentials.

2. Prayer calculations

Prayer times are calculations based on the selected location, civil time zone, calculation method, Asr convention, high-latitude rule, rounding and local offsets. Al Huda does not claim that one timetable is universally correct. Users should review their settings and compare results with the mosque, timetable or authority they trust.

3. Qibla guidance

The Qibla bearing is calculated mathematically from the selected location. Live heading guidance depends on device sensors that can be affected by magnetic fields, metal, cases, vehicles, buildings and electronics. Users should follow reliability warnings and use the static bearing when a live heading is not trusted.

4. Ramadan, Eid and religious information

Future Ramadan and Eid dates may be calculated or estimated and do not constitute a live local moon-sighting announcement. A date is not treated as source-backed confirmation until the user records that state. Al Huda is not a fatwa service and does not provide personal religious rulings.

5. Travel

Travel features provide location, time-zone, prayer-time and Qibla logistics. They do not determine religious rulings about shortening or combining prayers, fasting exemptions or in-flight practice. Seek qualified guidance appropriate to your circumstances.

6. Notifications

Notification delivery depends on iOS permissions, device state, system scheduling and the accuracy of the active prayer schedule. Al Huda cannot guarantee that every reminder will appear or play at a particular moment. Users remain responsible for checking the timetable and device settings they rely on.

7. Zakat estimates

Any Zakat result is an estimate based on user-provided values and is not a religious, legal, accounting, tax or financial ruling. Qualified guidance should be sought for individual circumstances.

8. Complimentary access and subscriptions

Al Huda provides ten complimentary app days with the full experience after setup is completed. These complimentary days are managed by Al Huda on the device: they do not start an Apple subscription, require payment or renew automatically. When the complimentary period ends, prayer times and the other features identified as free in the app remain available without a subscription.

Al Huda offers monthly and annual auto-renewable subscriptions through the App Store for continued full access. Payment begins only after the user selects a plan and confirms the purchase with Apple. The price, currency and billing period shown by Apple at confirmation are the applicable terms for that storefront.

Payment is charged to the user’s Apple Account. A subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. It can be managed or cancelled in Apple Account subscription settings. Transactions, restoration and refunds are processed by Apple and remain subject to Apple’s terms and applicable consumer law.

9. Prayer Essentials and external services

Prayer Essentials publishes original editorial guidance. Affiliate destinations are clearly labelled and take the visitor to Amazon. Amazon—not Al Huda—is responsible for the listing, price, availability, payment, delivery and returns under the terms presented there.

10. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the app or site, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access, distribute malicious code, scrape it in a manner that degrades service, or use its branding and content in a way that falsely implies endorsement or religious authority.

11. Intellectual property and content rights

Al Huda branding, interface design and original editorial content are intended to be protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Third-party marks and platform names belong to their respective owners.

12. Availability and changes

Features may change, and service may occasionally be interrupted, corrected or withdrawn.

13. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Al Huda is provided without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability, sensor perfection or universally identical religious calculations. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
